Scope of Work

Amazon’s first Fresh store in Washington DC opened in July of 2022. The Amazon Fresh stores feature their “Just Walk Out” technology which allows customers to skip the checkout lines. Customers just grab what they want and walk out. The technology knows what you have, who you are and automatically charges your account after you leave the store. This technology uses a combination of computers, camera’s, sensors, machine learning and artificial intelligence. Amazon Fresh carry a wide variety of products by local and national brands. This was The MDC Group’s first grocery build for Amazon. The store is approximately 5200 SF of shopping area with an additional +/- 3,000 SF of back of house areas including stock rooms, coolers, freezers, restrooms and office space. The total construction cost was 3 million dollars
